A Good Find

One of my favorite artists and children's books illustrators is Jessie Wilcox Smith. She passed away in 1935, so as you can imagine it can be difficult to find her books in print. Today I may have made a score: I found a 1958 edition of Heidi in very good condition on Amazon.com for $9! I ordered it immediately and I'm praying that it's not too good to be true. If I'm getting what I should be getting, here are a few of the beautiful illustrations:




I'm hoping Caralie will love it as much as I do. If it's in decent shape, it will be a Christmas gift. If not, it will be kept safe on my bookshelf. Cross your fingers for me that this turns out to be the real deal!
