One good thing I can say about Caralie's school is that they have a great music program. Mrs. Thompson, the music teacher, puts on a musical for each grade level every year. Last year Caralie's first grade class did The Bear Went Over the Mountain. This year they put on Celebrate Around the World - a Christmas Musical. They sang songs from around the world and shared traditions from other countries including, but not limited to, Ireland, Ukraine, Congo, Germany, and Spain. It was super cute and my only beef was that Caralie's best friend, Bailey, mostly blocked her in all my photos and videos. Oh well!The kids were supposed to wear their "holiday best" so Caralie wore her new Christmas dress (the blindingly sparkly dress you see above - thank you, Costco). As you can tell from the photo, she thought she was pretty hot stuff. After I finished curling her hair under she looked at herself in the mirror and very modestly announced, "Wow. I am BEAUTIFUL!" Love my kid.
The following video is my favorite song of the entire night: Santa Claus Rock. Halfway through the lights go out for some reason but they do come back on. Caralie is in the back row, 4th from the right. Her sparkly headband has fallen down to her eyebrows. Please excuse the jerkiness of the video - my camera was zoomed in all the way so any move I made was exaggerated.
